Corbis Images has a wide selection of professional royalty free images that have come in handy in the past. - Regina
Narrator Files has fairly extensive collections of images of individuals, specifically posed for use as animated pedagogical agents. While I won't use any of these in my project, looking at them has been a good jumping-off point. - Judy Unrein
iStockPhoto is an extensive source that I use frequently in my work. It's not the cheapest collection that I've found, but one of the most helpful... particularly since their images are generally very high-quality and they have photos, vector files (illustrations), and recently added rasterized digitally-produced images. - Judy Unrein

ARTstor - Though we'll likely use publisher provided graphics for this project, in the past I've found
ARTstor to be useful with other types of material development, specifically those for the social sciences. My workplace has a subscription to ARTstor, provided via the library databases, it's free for the students or staff to use within the academic setting.
